Wohoho, I am an ENTP :)

Hmmm, it's been a while since my last "no-posting" posting in my blog. Yeah, I found it was quite difficult for me to stick to the rule I made myself. But well, I still try to make it better, since this blog is made to be a little diary of my life. People who have known me for years will notice that I don't have friends if friends mean people who always close to you for more than 3 or 4 years. I don't have them, if you want to know, and to me it is okay.

Lately I took a personality test from http://www.16personalities.com/. The result was ENTP, Extraverted-Intuitive-Thinking-Perceiving. I had felt shocked but then laughed when I read the first line of the ENTP's description: People with ENTP personality type are often called devil's advocates, and for a good reason. OMG, devil's advocates! And one of the famous ENTPs is J.O.K.E.R. Yeah, that Joker from the Batman series *face palm*. There were also better figures like Alexander the Great, Theodore Roosevelt, Tom Hanks, and Celine Dion.

My First Fashion Article :D

Olaaaa, long time no see :)
It's been a while since my last post. Well actually I am in the middle of working, hard-working I think that it is really hard to take the time for blogging. So, here I would like to present my first article about one of my interests: fashion. This article was published in Giving magazine, the magazine of the foundation I work for, so no wonder it is in Indonesian :) Anyway, happy reading, pals ;)

Tampil Menawan Dalam Bingkai Ketaatan

Bye-bye, Ramadan :'(

It feels like Ramadan this year is very short. I still remember it clearly, that the day before the first day of Ramadan I was still doubt whether I could fast or not because I was in the period. It is still fresh in my mind that the first week of Ramadan was surprising because I could recite the Quran faster than last year. But today is 28th of Ramadan and I think I haven't done anything better than my targets.

On one day in this Ramadan, I ever missed the qiyam al layl just because I snoozed. In the middle of it I decided to not give the infaq because I ran out of cash. For several times, I missed the dhuha prayer just because I was late to work.

How bad I am in this Ramadan. I just completed my targets without any effort to do better than that, to give the best to our special guest of the year. Ramadan has come to us with full of blessing but me only ignored it in such a lack-of-respect way to welcome. And now I feel so regretful since he is going to leave us soon.

It's Cookie Time

Have you ready guys?
Eid is coming closer to us as we have already passed the three-quarters of Ramadan.  Have you finished reciting your Quran? Have you ever missed the qiyam al layl? Have you reached your own target this Ramadan? Me, alhamdulillah, have reached most of them :)

To me, actually Ramadan this year is totally different. I have no chance enjoying Ramadan in my hometown cause I have to work until the last day of it. Yeah, since I work in an NGO which also a zakat (alms giving) institution, Ramadan is the busiest month. We have to arrange some events for beneficiaries such as iftar with orphans. So, no chance for me to come home before Ramadan ends :(

Happy National Children Day 2013

"Approximately 46% of the fathers in the world said that time for playing with their children were pretty less. While the mothers in the world who had enough time to play with their children were only 36%. About 50% of parents in the world had to travel far to get home from their offices." A Visit to Gelar Jepang UI 2013

Holaaaa, meet me on my blog :) Well, you can call it photo blog since in this post I wrote less but embedded more photos.

Last week I have a chance visiting a Japanese festival at Universitas Indonesia. With some of my work fellows, I went to Gelar Jepang UI 2013. Well, actually I am not a kind of Japanese-geek or else but, I love festivals :D

The festival was great, a lot of people wore costume play. Yup, they were my target since I came to this festival for photo hunting. Unfortunately I couldn't take as many photos as I can since the festival was soooo full of visitors. But these are some photos -some of them were edited by me- of my friends and me with cosplayers :)

Daily Hijab Inspirations

Teteretereeet... Welcome back to my blog :)
Yeah, I know it has been more than two weeks since my last post. It means: late posting and worse than before :D Anyway, this time I would like to share my daily hijab inspirations.

As a muslimah, I wear hijab everyday. I have wore it since November 2005 (Shawwal 1426 H). Back to the day when I wore it at the first time, women wearing hijab were less than today. At that time, they also wore it in limited ways. It was probably two related things since women tend to be different in the matter of fashion, they won't be happy seeing other women wear the same outfit with them at the same time.

Draw My Eyes: An Inspiration from Jen "From Head To Toe"

Voilaaaa, meet me again at my blog :) It's been two weeks since my last posting. Yeah, I thought this was my habit, difficult to get straight with my routine. But now I decide to punish myself if I break my own promise posting every week.

Not until a week ago, I felt my head was full of ideas to share in this blog. But I decided to post my new activity that gets me crazy: makeup exploration. Yup, recently I am getting crazy about make over. I don't remember when it started, but I am enjoying this interest now.

Street Food Time :)

Some people think I am thin. Some usually get surprised when they finally know I eat a lot. Yeah, I really enjoy eating. To me, there is no favorite food. All I know is only "favorite foods" because I have a long list of food I like to eat. And one of my best time killers is: SNAAAACK!!!

I love snacking. In my room or on the table in my office you will find snacks. I rarely pass the day without snacks, except when I am fasting. I think I get this habit from my family. In my house, no day passed without snacks served on the table. Across the sea, I carried out this habit with me :)

May be since I was in elementary school, I have fallen in love with street snacks. Now after years, I still love them. Here are some of street art I have captured unintentionally.

Me, My Father, and a Cup of Coffee

I love coffee, more and more if it is black and hot. Well, I can say I don't really like "kopi banci" sold in most franchise coffee shop. I prefer to brew my coffee in a simple "kopi tubruk" way, the way most Malayans do to drink it. Sometimes I also like another way of brewing coffee like with Vietnam drip or French press, but it is such a rare moment for me to drink it because I have to go to coffee shop that costs much.

I don't really sure how I get the fondness for coffee. May be it derives from my father. He is such a kopi tubruk addict. When I was a kid and used to live with my parents, I counted how many times he drank it. I got 3 times: in the morning before he left for his school -my father is a teacher and soon to be retired-, in the afternoon when he had been home and got lunch, and in the evening after he prayed. Now as I am growing up, I realize that the number probably bigger since he also drinks coffee at school in I-do-not-know number of glass -he drinks cofee in glass, not a cup-.

My New Collection

If you are asking me what my favorite animal I is, I will shout loudly: "Caaaat...". Yup, I love cat, especially kitten. I used to keep a cat or cats in my house when I was a kid. Actually only me and my dad that love cat. My mom always get disturbed when there is a cat around her. I think the neutral party is my sisters, they are about so so to that kind of animal.
It was around my time in elementary school when suddenly I fell in love to cat, but in a different world. I remember the first I saw it is in an eraser I bought. A picture of Hello Kitty in yellow background. Since then, I love that kitten.

Welcome :)

Heyhoo, selamat pagi dunia...
Yeah, it's officially my first time posting in a blog. Actually I have made this blog for about a year but it seems  so hard for me to show up my activity in my blog.
Well, fyi, my name is Fitria Nur Syamsiah. You can call me simply "Fitri" with no "mbak" or "teh". I was born in a little village in Lampung Province, Indonesia. I grew up there until I decided to continue my study in one of senior high schools in Bandarlampung, the capital city of Lampung Province. That was my first time living far from my family because I had to live in a boarding house.
I went to Universitas Indonesia five years ago to continue my study. I entered to communications department with Media Studies as my study program. I graduated in September 2012 an now I am working at an NGO in Indonesia, specializing in CSR partnership. Although this job is not really suitable for my background, but I am happy because I can have much time to help society indirectly.
I have so many interests, ranging from girly stuff like making brooch and cooking, until some serious passions like research and discussions. My concerns are vary from women and children issues, family issues, Islamic thoughts, and conflict issues. This makes me think that I am a random person who can not focus in a distinctive issue or goal.
Well, that's me. And here is a picture of me :)
